Third Day Of Christmas |Yuu Nishinoya x Reader|

    “Oi, hand me those silver lights over there?”
    
    Huffing exhaustedly, you trudge over to yet another box of coloured christmas decorations. You pull open the package before digging through the mixture of cords. Your eyes widen victoriously, a smirk gracing your lips as your focus comes to rest on a set of white bulbs. Bundling the length of bulbs in your arms, you turn and make your way back over to Nishinoya.
    
    At the sound of your approaching footsteps, he turns his head slightly and regards the decorations before smiling enthusiastically, confirming that you chose the correct ones. He takes a few steps down the ladder before placing one hand on the pale wall for balance and reaching the other down towards you. You eagerly drop the bundle into his outstretched palm before taking a step back.
    
    After returning to his earlier position he locates the end of the string of lights and reaches up to place it on the hook.
    
    His hand never comes into contact.
    
    Confused, his head snaps upwards. An irritated frown spreads across his face, accompanied by a slight blush of embarrassment. You barely manage to contain your laughter as he huffs and moves up a step on the ladder before reaching up again. Even now, he encounters the same problem. 
    
    A small snicker escapes your mouth before you manage to stifle it, the muscles of your stomach burning in protest as your body desperately tries to betray you. His eyes flicker over towards you at the sound and his eyes narrow on the hand that covers your mouth.
    
    “Tch.”
    
    His feet move shakily and he progresses further up the ladder, his hand flat against the wall in an attempt to remain balanced. His eyes are focused on his goal, determination radiating from his pores. If there’s one thing you know about Nishinoya, it’s that he’s extremely stubborn.
    
    
    Two more steps, two more failed attempts. At this point you're practically curled in on yourself, clutching your stomach and covering your mouth. All you want to do is laugh, to tell him to just give up, but you know that there’s absolutely no way it will work. 
    
    His whole body is shaking, both in frustration and, though he'd refuse to admit it, fear. The metal structure wobbles dangerously as he takes another wary step. This time his foot comes to rest upon the very last step, a small platform that’s secured to the top of the ladder. Clenching his teeth, he pulls up his other leg and his whole body seizes as the ladder tilts precariously to one side. 
    
    Your laughter stops and a fearful expression spreads across your features as his arms swing around rapidly in the air in an attempt to regain his balance.  Your heart beats erratically in your chest, adrenaline coursing through your veins. After seconds of suspense, the ladder stops wobbling, coming to rest securely on the ground again. A grin spreads across his face, his arm shooting up and hooking the lights around hook in a quick blur.
    
    He lets out a triumphant holler, throwing his arms up in the air without thinking before quickly retracting them.
    
    “Go, Senpai! Only 19 more to go!”
    
    His eyes widen before his face falls and he lets out an unenthusiastic groan.
    
    “Yeah, yeah. The things I do.”
